set battle style
no exp share
soft level caps (may go past them if necessary, but the goal is to beat the gyms at as close to the cap as possible)
Level caps in order of the gym leaders and the champion: 14, 16, 21, 28, 30, 35, 45, 46 and 59

it was a difficult rival battle. the first attempt was a massacre, with every team member stalled out by shroomish and picked off one by one.

BUT we ran it back. bijou lead the charge on the rematch, and attracted the shroomish before things could get out of control. she wore it down, but fell asleep before the final blow!

skipper switched in to finish things off, and stayed in against marshtomp. he fired off bubblebeams as hard as he could. marshtomp went for bide, but at the last minute, a sleeping bijou swapped in to take the hit. a heroic sacrifice. and it made all the difference! skipper withstood all manner of accuracy debuffs, and stood his ground until marshtomp went down.

last up was slugma. heartwell put on a brave face and took him out with a single water pulse! another victory for the pink squad 😤😤😤😤

#kind of a win for me since i wanted my mons to get max ribbons #but like. they’re putting such an emphasis on contests in this game with a mandatory cutscene and new npcs #why are they flattening the game mechanics #no pokeblock minigame either? bro….. #idk why they didn’t just make an item to decrease/reset sheen and contest stats #then you could reasonably do well in all contest types but it would still take some thought #and high level berries wouldn’t be worthless since you’re not able to pump em full of low level pokeblocks endlessly #poke #pink playthrough
